Dr. Abraham Abdulhak is a double board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained MOHS surgeon with advanced expertise in skin cancer treatment and reconstructive surgery. Known for his precision and compassionate approach, he leads the Dermatology Institute of Detroit with a commitment to evidence-based care and long-term results.

Educational Background

Dr. Abdulhak earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from Wayne State University in Detroit, graduating with Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha honors. He completed his internship at Beaumont Hospital in Dearborn, where he served as chief resident, followed by a dermatology residency at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System.

Fellowship and Research

He pursued advanced training in MOHS micrographic and reconstructive surgery at Indiana University under the mentorship of Dr. Ally-Khan Somani, MD, PhD. During his fellowship, he contributed to national research through peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations, further refining his surgical expertise.

Meet Lamise Mohana, FNP

Lamise Mohana, FNP is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner providing general medical dermatology services at the Dermatology Institute of Detroit. She has undergone extensive, academic and hands-on dermatology training under the direct supervision of our founder, Dr. Abraham Abdulhak, fellowship-trained MOHS surgeon and board-certified dermatologist. Lamise delivers thoughtful, evidence-based care for a wide range of skin conditions and is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered treatments.

When she’s not treating patients, Lamise is expressing her hidden talents as an artist and painter! You can find some of her latest work in the waiting room!
